Types of matters covered:

• Marriage Contracts (Pre-nuptial agreements)

• Cohabitation Agreements (living together, but not married)

• Separation Agreements

• Uncontested Divorces (both parties in agreement on all or most matters)

The Family Law Act allows couples to determine the terms of their Marriage, Cohabitation or Separation for themselves, without the need for costly litigation.  These matters can usually be dealt with by various legal contracts, that are generally known as "domestic contracts".

Legal Fees:

I prepare most of the above-mentioned contracts on a flat fee plus GST plus any disbursements (additional costs such as court filing fees).  If extensive negotiation with the other party or with his or her lawyer is required, this negotiation will be charged on an hourly rate (plus GST) since there is no way to predict the length of the negotiations.
